To the world Taekwondo family, When
I look at the history of the world, which has been riddled with
war, disease,
natural disasters, human avarice and errors, I have a strong urge
to find a way to
purify the earth and to find ways to steer people in the right direction,
with someone
else or with the help of some organization in which we can share
the same belief and
lifestyle, speaking the same language and feeling the same emotions
as human
beings.
The World Taekwondo Festival was created with the ideal that "We
are one through
Taekwondo", regardless of religion, nationality, sex, age or
culture.
This festival is a place where we can gather people from all over
the world to join the
Taekwondo family, whether they are Buddhist, Muslim, Catholic or
Protestant, whether
they are African, Arabic, Asian, European or Indigenous, whether
they are yellow,
black, brown or white, whether they are young or old, men or women,
as long as they
are open to speaking the language of "Taekwondo".
That is Taekwondo. That is the World Taekwondo Festival. To unite
the whole world
and move in the right direction for now and the future of the borderless
world.
The purposes of this festival are:
1.
To spread the idea that the spirit of Taekwondo and its family
can
bring peace and harmony to the world.
2. To suggest that Taekwondo be used as an 'educational model'
for
the youth to become more disciplined
and respectful.
3. To develop all Taekwondo programs as 'global leadership ourses'
for the future leaders of the world. |
Once again, it is my hope and our
hope to be "One through Taekwondo"among the 50
million Taekwondo family members in over 170 countries spanning
the globe.
